Home away from Home

I really enjoyed my stay here. I had a two room suite. The kitchen had a full refrigerator with freezer, fullsize dishwasher, two burner stove, microwave/convection oven combination. Coffee pot with coffee, tea, sugar. Papertowels, utensils and dishes. Even a cork screw. The complimentary dinner menu is posted on the refrigerator for the month and is offered Monday thru Thursday. I stayed in February for two weeks and it was -16 degrees and snowed some. It was wonderful to get up and when warming up my car, could come inside and Mario's group would have a wonderful breakfast prepared with the best coffee. I would take my coffee to go and be on my way. When I came back at night the staff would greet you by name and the fire was always lit. Dinner was ready with complimentary wine and beer. You can either eat in front of the fire and big screen with everyone else or take your dinner to your room. They also have a room service menu with delicious halibut chips. Within walking distance there are several restaurants including TGIF, Applebee's, Peters Sushi Spot, Golden Corral, Starbucks. The only dissapointment I had was the washer and dryer situation. For the entire hotel there was 3 washers and dryers which are located on the oposite end of the hotel from the lobby. Not good directions. The cost for each is $1.75 (quarters only). There is not a change machine so you have to make sure that you get change from the lobby before heading there as well as your soap and dryer sheets. One washer and dryer was broken the two weeks I was there which left just the two washers and dryers for the entire hotel which was very limiting and difficult to get your clothes washed. I was on the 4th floor on the very opposite end of the hotel so to drag my clothes to the laundry to find out that the two washers and dryers were in use each time was a little frustrating. All in all everyone of the staff at Homewoods Suites was fantastic and made my stay enjoyable. Great group of people. Beds were comfortable. Loved my room. Cooked often in my room and was comfortable doing so. Easy to get around. Shopped at New Sagaya, Fred Meyer, Health Food Store at the UofA. I worked at the airport which was very easy to get to from here. Saw moose outside my hotel window. The housekeeping crew that cleaned my room during my stay really new how to make me feel comfortable. I slept with all the pillows from both beds and they made my bed with all the pillows. Turned down my bed. Had music playing softly on the radio when I came in at night. Left little notes back and forth. Great people. Great Stay!
