Disappointed
By ,
Not what we expected. Rooms had a worn dated feel, Staff ranged from very nice to incredibly unprofessional. Over-priced for the quality of the rooms. If you want to stray from the cookie cutter chain hotel experience, my advice is to pay a few bucks extra and stay at one of the more historic hotels in Boston.

Fantastic Service
By ,
If your going to the Garden and want to spend the night. STAY AT THE ONYX!!!! Freindly, Comfortable, Willing to Please, and close to everything. Yes, a little pricey, but worth every penny.... Hey, stay at Ho Jo's if you want cheap. If you want style, stay at the Onyx.... (I like that, maybe that should be there new slogan.)

We'll be seeing you again Onyx Boston! :)
By ,
I cannot say enough about the Onyx Hotel in Boston. I booked the hotel a few nights before the Dane Cook show on a whim and they still had rooms available and at a decent rate. I have never felt more taken care of at a hotel ever. Check in was easy, the valet parking is a little steep but worth it. We asked for a cab and we got a house town car that the hotel provides at the same rate as a city taxi. The rooms were very clean, nice marble floors in the bathrooms and very comfy linens. I slept wonderfully and even though we had a room right on the street, it was very quiet and cozy. I would recommend this hotel to any mid 20's to early 30's couple. If you are in your early 20's, the price of one night in a king bed room may sway you, but believe me, it is sooooooo worth it! :)

Staying there again
By ,
The Onyx has the personality, features, and luxury of its much more expensive sibling the 9Zero Hotel - which I also love. Its all about the BED, and this place has among the best anywhere. Staff are outstanding from the front desk to the valet car parker. The location is a little off the track for me, but Boston is a small town (sorry, too much time in NYC) so everything is relatively nearby. The gym is minimal - need to hook up with a more full service provider. Love it.

Trendy and hip.
By ,
I stayed there for a couple of days while I had meetings in the very nearby Federal Courthouse and Federal Office Building. Location wise, it was convenient for my work, and was also very near the North End and other shopping/dining areas in Boston. The rooms are very small. The bed in my room was huge, and almost took up too much space in the room. The decor was amazing with everything coordinated to set a great mood (I loved the leopard print on the bath robe). The free wireless intenet access was nice , but they do not have a business center and their fitness room is tiny. I would definitely go there again, just not for business. There is just not enough space or amenities that business travelers need.

Would definitely stay again!
By ,
I stayed at this hotel for an event at the TD Banknorth Garden. The hotel practically right across from the Garden. The bed was AWESOME, like sleeping in clouds! There were some yellow stains on one of our towels and the hotel is not sound proof so you could hear traffic on the street below. The rooms are small but cozy and great if you're only staying a night or two. For the price it was great. If you are seeing something at the Garden definitely stay here!

Such nice rooms
By ,
We loved the rooms- big soft beds, free internet access, all the amenities. The staff is very friendly. They offer free car to the financial district in the mornings, otherwise you can walk about 1 block to the North Station on the T. It is pretty quick to spots such as government crossing or Coply, but the hotel is not in a "happening" area. there are mostly pubs and convenience store nearby, as well as Fleet Center. They have room service, but there is no dining on site- only wine tasting in the evening and cont breakfast in the morning is quite $$. Very nice value though, for a plush room. Other than the

You could do worse...
By ,
The rooms are small, but nicely furnished. When I say small, I mean small. The photos make the room look bigger than it is. The bed was very comfortable but took up 3 quarters of the room. The bathroom was elegant, but again... small. The water pressure was ok, but certainly not great. Maid service was exceptional. The best thing about this hotel was its location... you're only about a block and a half from the North Station of the T. Parking fees were $32/day. I'm not sure if this is high for Boston, but most places I've stayed are closer to $20. If you don't plan on spending much time in your hotel room, this is a fine place to stay. If you're going on business and need to work from your room, I would suggest somewhere a little less cramped.

Perfect romantic getaway hotel
By ,
Very fine boutique hotel located 1/2 block from Fleet Center. Easy 10-minute walk to Boston North End (Old North Church, Paul Revere home, Little Italy with tons of restaurants). Check on-line hotel sites then call 800 number and they will match the price (part of Kimpton chain which includes the very nice Argonaut in SF-also recommended). I would say not best for families but perfect for couples. Room size is typical for hotels in metropolitan areas. Great beds and pillows. Convenience store, liquor store, Irish bar all within 1 block. Boston in general: take one of the trolley tours to get a feel for where things are; eat at the Daily Catch on Hanover; cabs seem more expensive than NY.
