The place was dirty and the smell was hideous. The front desk clerk and the manager was very unprofessional and extremely rude. All this over me just asking for a hospital discount rate. My son-in-law is in Ruby Memorial Hospital being tested for Cancer. First of all, the front desk clerk said that he could not offer any discount. But the next day, after telling him that Econo Lodge was going to give me a discount rate, he said he would offer me a better rate and that I didn't want to go to Econo Lodge any way. I do not like to be lied to. If he could offer me a better rate, he should have done so when I first asked him. Another issue was my son-in-law forgot his Tempur pedic pillow there. We called to see if it had been turned in, and they said no. The manager said that he would check on it. Later, after we had called several times, they finally came up with it after my son-in-law said that he would talk with the manager about losing a pillow that cost $159.00 dollars. So, I go in to talk with the manager about all this and he too was very unprofessional and rude. I would not recommend this motel to anyone. I think that whoever the owner is, should really look into this before they end up closing themselves down because of their poor attitude's. Will not ever be back there! By the way, 5 stars for the Econo Lodge that the manager and front desk clerk talked down about. The room was much nicer and much larger. The front desk clerk offered me a great discount from the start. Guess where I will be staying? I fully recommend the Econo Lodge down from the basketball coliseum.
Heat barely worked, dirty linens, owner is rude and money hungry. Charge $20 to park even if you are a paying guest. 70 year old neighbors had to switch rooms 3 times to finally get a room that didn't smell bad, have dirty linens, or have working heat. Then they were given room keys that didn't work, so I had to go down to the office and switch them out for them. You would be better off to sleep in your car then stay here. This place is by far the worst place I have ever stayed and I travel alot for both business and pleasure. Next time I go to Morgantown for a football game and there are no rooms left, I will either pitch a tent at the stadium or sleep in my car. Black top bed, no heat, smelly air, yep sounds like my room. $200+ for nothing.
