We stayed here in 2009 and I don't know how we could have missed this place before on our earlier visits to Birmingham. I got a clean room with free wi-fi, cable, microwave...for fifty bucks! The management were so friendly.
We have been back for Christmas and were so happy that we could get hot coffee any time of the day. We will return!
When we first arrived I thought it can't be as bad as it looks. We were on a tight budget because my grandmother was in the hospital in Birmingham so we had to find somewhere cheap to stay. Well they sure did qualify as cheap an not in a money saving way. First off when I went to move the tv out a little to hook in my cousin's playstation for him I looked down and there was a dead rat right by my foot. Next think I know I hear my aunt screaming in the next room because she opened her drawer and it was full of roaches. I can honestly say that I will NEVER stay another night at this hotel. It was filthy!!! My suggestion would be to go down to the Oxmoor exit (just like 2 or 3 miles from UAB) and check into the Quality inn if you are on a budget. It is only like $50 a night or even better you can go to the Motel 6 right by it for around $37 a night but there is no fridge or microwave... The Quality inn has both.
