Tapir Lodge, Cuyabeno

Tapir Lodge was a great discovery. As I was there with my wife, we had an incredible time enjoying the activities which make you live an adventure that is impossible to forget. We actually loved the location, that is far away from the "real world" (and the pollution) and which has an exceptionnal biodiversity (we've seen monkeys, anacondas, a caiman, pink dolphins of Amazonia, many unexpected insects, etc.). The environment is really impressive and if you love plants and big trees, you will love the Cuyabeno Wildlife Reserve. The guide was really clear (in both english, spanish and german) and makes everything with passion, safety and professionalism. About the lodge: the rooms are truly comfortable and that is really pleasant to fall asleep with the noises coming from the jungle. I think food was one of the most surprising things we had the opportunity to discover there. The cook (Juan) made us some typical dishes from Amazonia that were full of vegetables and totally healthy. The team was nice and we had a good understanding of the Amazonia rainforest. Also, you have to do the sunset at the Laguna Grande, as it is an impressive moment! Treks into the rainforest will make you realize how life is everywhere into the jungle. I think transportation from Quito to Lago Agrio (Nueva Loja) was the most tiring moment of the trip, as we decided to travel by bus (8 hours). If you travel by plane, it will only take you half an hour to get there! The motorized canoe from El Puente to Tapir Lodge (2 hours) is an incredible introduction to the jungle life! Thus, if you like adventure and wish to have comfort and security, you can choose Tapir Lodge without any hesitation!
