Hotel Punta Galeon Resort, Contadora Island

I love this place. I have gone there with my family several times. We relax at the pool with drinks, sun bathe at their spectacular sun decks some of them right on the ocean, awe at the magnificence of the island-beachfront-scenery. Only thing that could be better: food.

We liked the really outstanding location. Rooms have spectacular sea view but are basic. Breakfast was scarce - there was no buffet and the absolutely untrained waiters were not too eager to serve. My husband one day ordered scrambled eggs and some cheese. After about 20 minutes he got a plate with some stuff made of just one egg and one see through slice of cheese. A glass of water for breakfast is not included in the so called American Breakfast and so on. If you expect delicious seafood for dinner you will no less be disappointed. Call Charly of Villa Romantica, he will pick you up and you will be treated with lobsters and other fresh sea food, all deliciously prepared and served by friendly and experienced waiters. All in all we would recommend the Punta Galeon only for it's location and cleanliness of the rooms but in no way for it's food or appearance or staff of the restaurant. We stayed for 5 nights in May 2007

NEW OWNERS..... THIS BEAUTIFULL HOTEL IS COMPLEATLY RENEW.......... FULL SERVICE .EXELENT FOOD VERY CHANCHE!!!!! HAVE TO GO AND SEE IT BEAUTIFULL PLACE EXELENT BEACHES!!!! WE LIKE THE SERVICE, THE ROOMS ARE VERY CLEAN....THIS IS MY SECOND TIME THERE I WAS A YEAR AGO AND IT IS A VERY BIG CHANGE!!! EXELENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The island of Contadora was beautiful. The weather was hot at all times and the beach was how I imagined a tropical beach - white sand glistening in a hot sun, and crystal clear waters with tropical fish and visible coral. However, the hotel was a let down... my mother and I almost had a fit. There were ants eating away at my make-up; cocroaches in the bathroom; a shortage of towels; food and drinks and also the lack of entertainment on the island. But hey, what do you expect staying on a marooned island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. Above all it was an amazing experience and something too share with others.
