13 reviews for River Terrace Inn, Napa
We loved it!
By Stefanie, 04/12/09
This hotel was really great. My boyfriend and I had a wonderful time here. Breakfast was free, we went swimming, the room/bathroom were fantastic. It was nice having room service and a bar in the lobby. It's in a really convenient location. We did the special on stay two nights, get the third night free. That was a great deal. It puts you in a really nice suite. Nearby to downtown Napa. I hope we go back there one day.

Service ?
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/29/08
I was disappointed - we found the concierge to be really unfriendly and NOT helpful - we arrived late in the afternoon and asked for a recommendation for lunch - she sent us to a place that was CLOSED. Also - no help in dinner reservations. Her attitude was cool, distant, and curt. She was awful. Room ok, but not great.

Wonderful Getaway
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/31/07
My husband and I stayed at the River Terrace Inn this past weekend. The rooms was beautifully appointed. We booked their spa package. The in room massages were WONDERFUL. The dinner was FANTASTIC. We ate at Allegria. The breakfast that the hotel serves is Delicious. We will be staying at this hotel again. C. Beveridge

Really Great Bargain, Lovely.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/05/07
We just got back from our trip to Napa where we stayed at the River Terrace. Our room was better than expected. We sat on our private balcony and had coffee while watching the sunrise over the mountains and the Napa River. The hotel was clean and quiet. The only issue I had was that I had ordered the "romantic arrival" package when I booked and it never arrived even after I went to the front desk and gave them a set time to bring it. They were nice about it when I told them it never showed and they canceled it without problem. The breakfast is super, far better than the typical stale continental you get everywhere else. I do not however recommend "Cuvee" the restaurant affiliated with them. I gladly would have paid 3x what I did for a GOOD cut of steak that was not dried out and over done.

misleading advertisement
By Istvan, 10/06/07
This hotel advertises rooms with river view AND balcony which do NOT have either view to the river nor balcony. We had booked one room with riverview and balcony to find out when checking in that 1st floor (that is ground floor) rooms do not have balconies and although located on the river side you do not see the river but have an overview to the car park or some sort of sidewalk. When I complained at the reception the very unfriendly staff gave me a lecture that at the time of booking ( i.e. 2 months in advance)they ran out of the riverside rooms with balcony and view so the only available RIVERVIEW ROOM W/ BALCONY was without those 2 things that I had chosen this hotel for!!! Let alone that I had paid the higher price. Is that fair? I don't think so. Is the hotels's website misleading? I think so. You don't get what you have paid for. On the flipside, the hotel is nice, rooms alike

Wonderful Experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/25/07
I went to Napa for my son's wedding June-07. A friend and I stayed here. Never have I stayed at a hotel where EVERYONE was so friendly and accommodating. The breakfast every morning was great and fresh. We had in room facials and massages that was GREAT. It was an overall wonderful stay. I would highly recommend this hotel and I will definately stay there again when in the area.

Really nice place
By A, 05/02/07
The room was very clean. Breakfast was really good and it was free! A few miles from the wineries but if you have a car, who really cares? Just a few blocks from really good restaurants. I'd stay there again.

Great Value
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/20/06
My wife & I recently stayed at the River Terrace Inn for 2 days of wine tours. The hotel was nicer than expected; ie decor was beautiful, rooms nicely made up, clean, etc. The continental breakfast was awesome (see other reviews here for menu) and the restaurant was also quite good (although limited menu) and well priced. If you book this hotel well in advance, you will get a great value for your money. The only knock on this hotel from our perspective was its location; not easy walking distance to town square. So if you don't have a car (like we did not), and you want to sight see, this may not be the hotel for you. But if you are doing wine tours with an tour operator and simply want to relax in the evening, then you will likely love this place. There is a restaurant affiliated with the hotel (Cuvee), but we found it was quite expensive. When we arrived, we realized that our room did not have a tub. The front-desk were very curtious and were able to move us to a room with one. Overall, we loved our stay. Nothing bad to say about this hotel. The key for us was the value we got for the money we paid by booking months in advance.

We will certainly come to River Terrace Inn on our next Napa visit!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/08/06
The room was spacious and elegant--it was very clean each day. The breakfasts were delicious and we enjoyed eating outside on the deck. Good location to everything we wanted to see. The third day free offer was fantastic!

We will never go back to this hotel!
By Cindy, 06/12/06
The hotel experience at the River Terrace Inn in Napa was horrible. I could honestly say that I think we would have received better service at a Motel 6. We were treated like 2nd rate citizens, because didn't show up in a limousine like others. The bellboys/valets ignored us, we asked for a crib and NO crib, the refridgerator was NOT full stocked, the highchairs in the restaurant were ALL filthy and we had to clean them ourselves. I could go on and on. All I know is that if a night was given to us, I wouldn't take it! For the price of the hotel, you would expect nothing but the best. We were so WRONG!! Don't waste your money here!! I'm sure their are plenty of other hotels in Napa that would treat you right!!
