Never judge a hotel by its cover
By A Yahoo! User, 04/14/08
I had often driven past this hotel, and from the exterior I had thought little of it. And then I needed a hotel near to Hermosa Beach. All of the hotels near the beach were exorbitantly expensive, and I stumbled across the Ayres Hotel. It was wonderful. The room was lovely, much nicer than I had expected for the cost. It was really great value for money and the staff were helpful and hospitable. I would definitely go back there.

I would go back in a heartbeat!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/06/08
Our family really liked the hotel. It was very clean and decorated beautifully. Our room was spacious and the european boutique feel was thoroughly carried out. The breakfast was very good and staff was friendly and helpful. There are plenty of places to eat and shop around there and is conveniently located by the freeway. Just a few miles from the beach. Pool is not too big but the hotel is worth it.

can we live here?
By nabg, 12/28/07
Have you ever looked for the perfect hotel that was inexpenseive? Then go to the Ayres hotel on Manhattan Beach, Hawthorne, CA. This hotel was one of the finest hotels I have ever seen. This great hotel was a museum inside since it was so great. There were many antiques and artwork from many eras. There was one huge tapestry of Lois The Fourteenth, "ruler of the earth", in the lobby. Plus many other artwork masterpieces. The rooms were very exquiset and big. They had very comfortable beds and beautiful wallpaper. There was also a free buffet and a swimming pool. There was a hot tub and an excercise room. This place is the place that you may be looking for if you want the perfect hotel and it was so good, I am asking the question. Can I live here? I will come back to this wonderfull place.

Highly recommended!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/12/07
Our son got married at the courtyard area and had the reception at this hotel. All our guest remarked on how great the service was. The hotel was beautifully decorated, very clean. The staff was very helpful. I would highly recommend this hotel. It's a plus that all the rooms has a refrigerator and microwave. Great Fitness Center. It looks very plain on the outside but the inside is absolutely beautiful. Yes, it is close to the freeway but our guest enjoyed walking to Traders Joes, Starbucks, Bristol Farm and several restaurants around the area.

Great stay

Lovely hotel with a distinctly European feel. Large, comfortable, quiet room. Helpful staff and lovely ambience throughout. Very nice complimentary breakfast. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will return when we are in the LA area.

Good hotel..nice ambience, not so good breakfast
By Dharini, 01/02/06
Comfortable rooms, overlooking the parking lot. The hotel is bang opposite a strip mall but pretty close to the beach. The breakfast options could be better though.

extra special honeymoon
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/18/05
We love the place, the room was beautifull, the colors, the style... It make our honemoon extra special. The only thing is that looking at the rates today, what we paid on August last year was too expensive compare to the rates now, was it more expensive because we said it was a honeymoon?? We wonder why?
