I wouldnt go again

We went at Easter (2007) and found that the hotel was indeed very imposing and cost us 15Eu to get there from the airport by taxi. The hotel is located a long way from the town of Agadir and is VERY exposed to the wind--so much so that the parasols, tablecloths and sometimes the tables just blew away. The nights were freezing cold and the hotel heating was never switched on, it just blew and made a noise. There was never any hot water, not even tepid. I called reception and they sent up 2 men with spanners who just dirtied the bathtowel and went away! There was a problem also with the drinks situation. The hotel prices are ENOURMOUS so we decided to visit the local supermarket (magane) which is a long way away--dont even believe the hotel when they say 15-20 minutes, get a red 'petit taxi' and if you want alcohol (which we did!) then take your passport as you wont get any at certain times without it. On that subject, the hotel did not have any draught beer although it was on their menu, the Iberostar next door did have! otherwise you will pay 3.00 for a very small bottle of Flag special which is around 50p in the supermarket and the wine is so expensive, we only bought 1/2 bottle at the hotel on the first night. This was the only night that we had any entertainment with a 'belly dancer'.
My advice would be, book a hotel near the town, it is really quite OK there and has much less wind, lots more choice, and equally nice beach and much cheaper. Those large hotels are a rip off. If you do go on a tour to the anti-atlas mountains and Tizmit, there is a waiter at reception (ask for the Irishman) who will give you a good deal via his brother-- it cost us less than 1/2 the hotel price and we had a personal mercedes!. Also whach out for taxi strikes (graves) and religious holidays or you will be stuck in the hotel.
