Four Seasons Resort Langkawi, Kuah

I loved every thing my way of a view. my Wife opinion is same as mine but she had some difficulty walking alone there in the night since you can't see the path coz of the poor lighting, sure you can call them for the Golf car thing ( i don't know the name :P ) but sometimes you wana walk don't ya ?! Overall the place is great and nice wish you all a good holyday. sorry about my English but this is my best!!

Beautiful hotel, meticulous landscaping, friendly and effective serives, BUT.. as we were taking a stroll one night at the hotel beaches, from out of no where a dog came barking and chasing us. Because it was quite dark out there, illuminated only by the half moon we couldn't see what the dog looks like, but judging from the sound of its barking, the dog must be quite huge and fierce. We slowly backed away from the dog because we knew the moment we ran, the dog will jump us. As we were backing away slowly the dog kept a close distance. Luckily no one got hurt. I am not sure if it was a strayed dog or if the dog belongs to a hotel guest, regardless our last night at the resort was ruined. We were too afraid to go back to the beach and ended up watching tv in our room. We reported the problem the next day, all we got is they will look into it.

We just spent 7 days in FS Langkawi. The resort is superb and the service excellent. We stay in a beach villa, there are fantastic, and the "problem" of the cement factory is not really a problem ; it is very far and concerns only 5% of you panoramic view. The food is superb, specially at Ikan Ikan. We found the staff very friendly and efficient, specially at the bar. The Spa is fantastic, one of the best for FS, but steam room and whirpool are missing. The two pools are perfect. The only "problem" is the beach : the setting is not nice and the beach service doesn't exist. This resort is highly recommanded to have wonderful holidays. There were guests from Russia, very badly educated and noisy... The problem is that FS decided to increase the prices, our villa was 1300 US$ a day and will be at 1700 US$/night in the next months. It seems expensive. But they have a lot of returning guests.

I had a fantastic stay at the Four Seasons Langkawi. The driver the hotel sent to pick us up was waiting for us upon arrival, and was courteous. The Four Seasons was a 25 minute car ride from the airport. It's located about a mile south of the Tan Jangrhu resort. Otherwise, the hotel is pretty isolated from town and the other hotels located on the island. The staff was great. They were courteous and warm. They truly made me feel like the hotel and staff were tailored for me and my wife. I have nothing but great things to say about all the staff members that I met during my stay there. The beach villa that I stay in was very nice. It was spacious, modern, and very clean. It had a bathtub (pavilions don't have one), an indoor and outdoor shower, wireless internet (bring your own computer), a powerful central air conditioner, and a sufficent number of english television channels. Even though the menu at the hotel's restaurants weren't very extensive, all the meals that I had there were above average. The hotel's two pools were designed well. The main pool had a good place for lunch next to it, but I prefered the adults only pool. My only request for the second pool would be that it offer a better poolside menu. The spa treatment was above average (not spectacular though). It was very peaceful and rejuvinating. I had the traditional malay massage, and my wife had a fusion massage. The mangrove tour is worth going on. I'd recommend going trip that included a guide, rather than just renting a boat and cruising around by yourself. The tour was supposed to last 2-3 hours, but it lasted about 4 hours for us. Also, the guide told us that it as better go during low tide, than high tide. From my villa (#15), I had a view of the cement factory. Even before going on my trip I read the other user's gruff about the factory being an eyesore. The factory does break the otherwise natural scenery, but it was far away enough that you really won't notice it unless you focus on it. Things to do outside the hotel: 1. Go to town, but don't expect to find alot to buy expect for trinkets. 2. Go to the night market near the hotel. Alot of locals gather there. 3. Go to the sandbar at the tang jangrhu resort. You can literally walk about 500 meters into the ocean and the water will only come up to your thighs (during low tide). 4. Cable car ride is worth going on.

After several stays at Four Seasons around the world. This one will finally be the last. This resort has been in the works for 7 years. It is located in "Eye Shot" of a large industrial plant....what were they thinking???? If you get the wrong Pool Villa you will have a direct view of this ugly plant. Room service was Poor. Pass on room service. The restaurants were very good. Ikan Ikan stands out! Burger by the main pool another stand out! As advertised on their website pool service includes a cool refreshing spritz on the hour as well as fresh fruit. Doesn't happen! One spritz in our 6 day stay! 24 hours by the pool. Room quality was almost poor. The Pool villa was quite worn for being almost new. AC was broken half the stay. Power outage in our Pool Villa only required several visits from maintenance and calls to management! Were compensated with free bottle of wine. Before our trip they kept emailing inquiring about our flight details even though we told them when they weeks ahead when they called! The staff. Some of the most friendly we have encountered in the world. Truly sincere. The service- Water Sports staff...always made it better. Hotels ambiance was excellent. It is quit vast and you will require a Golf cart, which entails some waiting at busy times. The lap pool is fantastic, but they do have plans to have cabana rental fees. Go to the spa! You really have to work too hard at this hotel to find out info on things that the hotel offers. This is not an exotic local especially when the Industrial Plant is always a look away! Four Seasons, what were you thinking??? Four Seasons Maldives a better property. This will be our last stay at a Four Seasons Resort.

I have stayed in many hotels and this is by far one of the best. It is a great experience for all ages and there is so much to do. You find yourself never bored. The staff is excellent and it seems like they can almost read your mind. They get you what yo9u want before you even ask it is amazing and when I get the chance i will go back immediatly!

An amazing new resort that was an unexpected pleasure. Four Seasons really did a good job with this one. We had no reason to leave the resort other than a wonderful mangrove tour by the naturalist on staff. We didn't bring our kids, but will next time. It's an easy direct flight from Singapore and a well kept secret.
