El Portal Resturaunt
By RachelB, 07/07/07
Absolutely Fabulous! It was delicious, romantic, friendly, warm, & everything we could have expected. A client of mine highly recommended staying at El Portal but we had already booked a condo so decided to have dinner there. Can not say enough about this place & how delicious it was. Can't wait to go back & will recommend them to everyone we know

Wouldn't repeat the stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/03/07
Although the hotel wasn't in a bad spot, we thought it was way over priced for what we received. No coffee pots in the rooms which was upsetting. The hotel didn't have a pool or hot top which I would have loved after our long walks and trail hikes.

Romantic Get-Away
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/30/07
We enjoyed El Portal so much, we came back a second time (in 9 months!)The entire staff makes us welcome. Steve has great recommendations for hiking, and Lynda can offer information regarding areas of local interest as well. Sylvia, one of the cleaning assistants is always very pleasant and did a great job with our room! Chef Eden created fabulous breakfasts and we also enjoyed dinner very much at El Portal. Sherry & Barry Marshall

We will return!

This rustic craftsman inn is a delight. Real art work on the walls, unique rooms, great food, good hosts. Also, a convenient place in town for shopping and exploring.

Simply fantastic. Already planning on coming back.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/29/06
I just had to write you to thank you so much for an extrordinary stay at your lovely inn. It was our first time to Sedona, and the intimacy of your rooms and along with the warmth of your staff made our visit to Sedona very special. To say that we liked our room (#7, I think it was called The Grand Canyon) would be a huge understatement. It was simply beautiful. The view from our private patio was fantastic and my wife loved the adjacent garden to our patio. She’s very much into gardening. There’s just so much to say. Our sunset Jeep tour was incredible. Our guide told us so much about Sedona. It was not only very educational and informative, but one hell of an adventure. The views from Schnebly Hill Road were some of the most spectacular we saw while in Sedona. My wife is still talking about it to all our friends. And dinner, it was fabulous. You have one of the best chefs there. In fact, we enjoyed dinner there so much on Friday night that we ate there again on Saturday. Again, I can’t thank you enough for such an enjoyable vacation. We will be coming out to Sedona again in December and look forward to staying with you again, perhaps in a different room – my wife wants to stay in the one with the steam shower next time. Again, thank you for your hospitality. Your staff truly cared about our comfort and it was so evident in the way they presented themselves, thanks again

We'll never go back!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/24/06
Rooms have stone floors! Try walking on stones in your bare feet. No coffee pot in the rooms! Overpriced and bad food! Our room had a small patio outside and the room had bugs coming in all the time. Not recommended for handicapped guests. They advertise as a B&B but to get breakfast you pay! A lot! The food was really bad and we went out for our meals after the first meal at El Portal. Not even a half star hotel! Disliked the stone floors in the rooms. Disliked the food! Disliked the prices of the rooms.

Fabulous place!
By D., 06/26/06
El Portal is the only place we would stay in Sedona! The rooms are beautiful, unique, comfortable and private with great attention to detail. Breakfasts are amazing and in the evening there's appetizers and fresh baked cookies waiting for you. Everyone is very friendly and helpful,we would recommend taking one of Benny's tours. El Portal is a little pricey but it really is worth it, also if you check out their website they offer specials and packages.

What a gift
By PAT, 02/26/06
My first visit was a belated 65th birthday gift...I've been back twice since and plan on going next month again. There are not enough superlatives to describe this inn - the decor - right down to the silver ware in the dining room. And speaking of dining - sinfully delicious whether the breakfasts, "tea time" snacks or their FABULOUS barbeques. I plan on staying in each of the uniquely decorated rooms and then starting all over again. Hey - I'm worth it. Try the Woman's stress buster - WOW!
