It wasn't that bad...

My husband and I stayed at the Multatuli earlier this year, and decided when we are returning now to stay there again. The rooms are small, but essentially you are staying in a canal house, authentic tiny spaces with lots of staircases. Our room was small, but our bathroom was humongous (compared to the size of the room and the size of bathrooms I experienced in Amsterdam). All things considered, I am not travelling all the way to Europe to spend my vacation in my room, and when I was in the room what really mattered was that I had a luxurious bathroom to take care of life's business. What really matters to me are LOCATION and HOSPITALITY. The people who ran the hotel were pretty helpful and nice considering my husband's disability. I would not recommend the breakfast, since there are so many wonderful places nearby to experience. We decided to stay a second time, because of the wonderful central location across the street from Central Station, and the reasonable inexpensiveness of the room. The room was clean, and respectable. There was some remodeling going on, but it seemed to be the case with every other hotel we considered too and they cost 500 Euros more a week.
