Nice place
The Samuel Sewell Inn is a beautiful old house with lovely rooms and the price is reasonable, however we did experience some problems. When we were showed our room, we were assured that the flue in the fireplace was fully open so that we could light a fire at night. We followed the instructions posted in the room to the letter. The room began to fill with smoke. The flue was only partially opened. The smoke alarm went off and other guests left their rooms but I assured them everything was ok. The person on call apologized but I was surprised that they did not put us in another room. There were several that were unoccupied. Also, when we checked in we were told that there was a 15.00 fee for parking in their lot. This is not stated on their web site. The breakfast was buffet and very nice, however we did have to go across the street to their other Inn since our was not full. A nice place but I will seek out others if the occasion should arise for us to stay in Brookline in the future.
