For people who like complete serenity
By ,
PROS: This place is at a very remote location, afar from civilization but close from the sand dunes. I would consider staying there again since this property has the best shore with sand made of little stones; the place does not get many guests so you can totally enjoy a peaceful time on the beach. CONS: There are no phones on the rooms so if you need anything you need to walk to the lobby. 2/3 of the buildings are abandoned and the place has a gloomy feel to it. But overall, if you are looking to stay on a place where you can kick back and just enjoy a peaceful vacation, this is it.

The worst hotel in the world!
By ,
My wife, the baby and I were first introduced into a small room, which was right next to a construcion/remodeling area, it was noisy and there were a couple of cockroaches on the beds. I was kindly relocated into a second room which looked cleaner and quiet. After settling and going out to dinner, we came back to find more cockroaches and a small scorpion underneath the bathroom floor towel. I complained and was shown a 3rd room, just to find at least 5 more cockroaches on the beds and walls. I cancelled my stay and went to the San Carlos Plaza... a hundred times better in every aspect. I do not recommend Paradiso Resort to anyone, it's dirty, full of cockroaches, and very dangerous for babies if they get stung by a scorpion.

Pretty good, actually!
By ,
The hotel's setting is gorgeous. (Late March 2007, 5 nights) If quiet and privacy is what you want, this is where to go. Very nice beach, and, the lagoon the resort wraps around is very pretty. Lots of ocean birds to see. The rooms are a little Spartan, but, comfortable. We were stuck watching movies a few days because of very windy conditions. But it was still nice. We enjoyed the food. It is as good a deal as you'll find in San Carlos. Probably better. Just wish they would turn the music down so you could enjoy a quiet meal. I'd go back.

Sad in San Carlos

Vacation between Christmas and New Year. The pool was under repair. The quality of food was poor. We had to run the shower for 30 minutes before the water was warm. Recreational activities advertised were not operational.

Pleasant 3 to 5 day stay
By ,
In a remote area and only about 1/3 of the rooms are usable. Get there early in the week - fewer guests and better service. Lots or little to do - up to you. Beautiful pool area, lovely beach and logoon. The staff is friendly and the food was good - Friday night a big mexican buffet and a nice Sunday brunch. And si, Happy hour every day...

Hotel renovation
By ,
I enjoyed every minute of our stay. The food was good and the workers were wonderful. However, travelers should know this hotel is in fix-up mode. Only a small portion is available to stay in and there are no telephones in the rooms. The swimming pools are being jack-hammered out and are unusable.
