Don't always believe what you read!

Well it looked great on the website but the reality was different. It is basically a collection of 2 story villas set around a below average pool with a restaurant that serves 'westernised' Thai food and the bar was sole less.
When we checked in the AC in the room was not working and we had to spend the first night in the room as no alternative was offered. The next day we moved ourselves - i.e. no help from the staff with our luggage - to a room where the shower did not function properly and the TV did not work. All reported to the staff but not remedial action taken during the remainder of our stay.
The resort - and I use that term loosely - is located in a remote place and I was shocked when I asked if a taxi could be called to take us out when I was told they cannot call a taxi unless I gave them the telephone number of a taxi firm. We were offered the hotel car at around baht 1,400 for what would have been a baht 250 local taxi ride! Oh, I nearly forgot to comment on the pool. It is waist deep and the towels are old and worn out. The impression I got was the place was run on a shoe string and business was not good. I honestly think it is run by a businessman not an hotelier. Never again!
