Great customer service, clean rooms!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/30/11
First thing, LOVED the customer service ! Front desk was so helpful with us. The room was very clean! The location is great because it's walking distance to nearby restaurants. The free breakfast was delicious. Had a great time in downtown Seattle since it's so close to this location. Thanks to my friend who recommended this affordable place and the friendly staff! Will be back again!!

AFFORDABLE STAY, GREAT LOCATION!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/20/11
Very affordable prices! Free Breakfast in the morning! Free Wi-Fi, Area is surrounded by convenient food places with bars like Denny's Restaurant and Dino's Pub, convenient store next door, McDonald's, Starbucks and much much more! Had an awesome stay with friends, walking distance to the beach nearby, which is great for picnics and BBQ's. There's even more stores, shopping center, and food places near by the beach!!!

Clean motel, but lacking ammenities
By RobertY, 7/29/11
I had just stayed at a Doubletree at the airport. I was looking for a week long stay for my family next year. The rooms are clean but worn. Bed is in good shape but not real comfortable. Breakfast was limited, quartered muffins, waffles, 2 - cereals and hard boiled eggs. Everyone was very nice, but they didn't know where I could run. Found out on my own where to jog. Found out too late about may park. Not sure if I would stay again. Not enough outlets for computers and unreliable Internet. Good if you just need a place to stay overnight, but I don't know about long term.

Just say NO and travel on down the road!
By shirljo, 9/4/09
I had read the previous reviews and thought this would be a great place for my family to stay when we returned from our cruise. Was told over the phone that the suite had 2 queens and a pop out couch so booked that for the 5 family members. Upon arrival was told there was only 1 qu and popout couch bed. So had to book two rooms. As 3 members of our party are handicapped we requested downstairs. Then got the run around about us arriving too early for check in. Then an hour later they called my home phone and wanted to know if we were going to show up for reservations. Got back to hotel later as were told to do and tried to get rooms reserved. They put us upstairs with ground level access in the back. Both rooms and 1 queen bed for 5 people NO doesn't work. Went back to office, still kept trying to put us upstairs. I said no I need to be downstairs. They finally gave us two rooms downstairs. Gave me the key. I open the door and there are people in the room already. Had to wait until those people checked out and the room was cleaned. Midnight someone tries to get into the room. Told to go away. The front desk calls and wants to know when we checked in. They had booked the room again. Asked to speak to Manager. A young man comes to the desk, no badge, no name tag, etc. He couldn't even check the computer because he didn't know how to get into the room reservations. Checked out the next morning after booking two nights. They did refund for the night we didn't stay. No apology for the troubles of the day and night before. No smiles, no we are sorry for the inconvenience, nada. I will not recommend this place to anyone unless you like the runaround. And that's what you'll get here.

WILL NOT GO BACK!!!!
By Anonymous, 8/2/09
Very disappointed with this place. We found bedbugs in our bed. We were told at there was wireless internet. When talking with front desk they stated they did not know how to access it. Would not recommend this place.

Great Hotel
By john, 7/6/08
Went there with my son for a few days for Mariners games. The hotel was very kid friendly, was clean and had a pool. It was easily within commuting distance of Downtown Seattle and being next to the freeway was within access of everything. It is by May Park and that is a wonderful place to spend 6 hours hiking around which we did. I didnt have reservations but they gave me the discounted internet price anyway which shows their superior customer service. The rooms were clean, and had newer furnishings. The staff was very professional, they even had 10 percent off coupons for the Denny's in the same parking lot. There is a local hotspot right next to it (a pub), where people can go to have a few drinks after a long day of activities. Also in the same complex was a mini mart which was great for snacks and drinks, and a gym so you can go workout. Great location, New Castle is a very clean city and the folks were really friendly and there were good views of Lake Washington and Mercer Island. I chose this location based on other reviews as I have stayed in some other Budget Motels closer to town and am glad I chose this one. The only downside is the traffic getting into Seattle, but if you plan ahead and allow yourself some extra traveling time it shouldnt be a problem. I dont know about the internet there, although Denny's had free wi-fi, good food, and kids eat free2-10 pm everyday....oh the internet, I have broadband wireless so I have internet everywhere I have cell phone reception on my labtop so I didnt try theirs out.

Great friendly staff and nice clean rooms!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/30/08
When i was picking a hotel to stay i read all of these reviews and did my research. come to find out I made a great choice of a hotel to stay at on my vacation. They have a new manager and new frontdesk staff. I WAS SO PLEASED when i got to the hotel. yes it is a older building but the lobby and rooms have all been redone with new furniture and stuff in the rooms. The staff was extremely helpful and recommended some great places to eat like melrose grill & the fin and bone. WOW i was so surprised that renton had such great places to eat. WE didnt even have to get in the traffic to find good food!! I really dont know why others seem to have such a bad experience at this hotel I even asked about the complaints and they clarified any questions i had and put my worries if any to rest I will stay again at this hotel. I recommend this hotel for families and travelers that need to watch there budget.

Affordable, clean, but slow wireless
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/5/07
Staff was friendly. Breakfast was great. We needed an affordable place that wasn't too far from Redmond. We stayed two weeks and the hotel was good - except for their wireless internet which was slower than dialup especially during prime times and occasionally dropped my connection. Location is great if you have a car - right off 405, but traffic is very heavy most of the time. Not much within walking distance, though. Newcastle shopping centers are about 10 min away by car. Service for the most part was good, sometimes the maids would forget things like leaving fresh cups for water or extra roll of toilet paper.

Cute place; unreliable Net access
By Issues That Matter, 7/27/06
There is a lot to like about Renton's Econo Lodge: 1) It is clean. 2) The staff is very friendly and seem genuinely concerned about guests' comfort. 3) Nice pool and pool area. 4) Continental breakfast is about the best I've ever witnessed (fresh waffles, muffins, cereals, juice, toast). 5) Surrounded by delicious blackberry bushes. But there are a few negative marks that greatly impacted my visit: 1) Not easily accessible from airport ($25.50 cab ride from SEA). 2) Not close to town or transit options for those with no car. 3) Staff only marginally addressed my number one concern, which was.... 3) NO WIRELESS INTERNET ACCESS! The net access was my sole reason for booking this place (among highly-rated hotels with net access). I had to work and required access. But when it came time to log in, my wi-fi card saw the Econo router but was not allowed internet access. By the time I checked out, I was one of four guests to have this same problem. The manager promised to get a tech guy in, but held an air like it was our problem and not his (I work in tech - it was Econo's issue). Fortunately, the McDonalds next door had wi-fi for $3/2-hour block. Since I could not take advantage of the net access as advertised, I checked out early. Great place if one does not necessitate reliable internet access.
