Basically a good place to stay

I've stayed at the West Hartford Inn three times now. The last time I stayed was this year and I think the place has gone downhill a little bit. The curtains had holes in them, the table was chipped, and the chair was scuffed. The beds are pretty comfortable.
The rooms are decent and clean overall. The location is ideal -- off of Farmington Avenue, which leads directly to either tony (and pricey) West Hartford Center or downtown Hartford, which offers such diversions as the Mark Twain House and Bushnell Park, the Wadsworth Atheneum (oldest public museum in country), and a burgeoning sense of expansion/community -- Hartford is really trying to clean up its act.
There are no microwaves or refrigerators in the room -- for what you're paying, these would be a welcome addition. There is a coffeemaker, hairdryer, ironing board, dry cleaning pick-up, and cable TV -- the usual amenities. The fitness room is very nice. I found the desk clerks to be pretty bored and less than helpful. Definite improvement needed there. The restaurant next door is closed due to renovations.
I would say this is a decent place to stay if you're in the area, but some improvements could be made.
