Wonderful Gem in a crazy City

I stayed at this location last december with my sister, we were a little unsure when our shuttle driver told us our hotel was in Queens. Not being from the east coast we automatically assumed our hotel was not in a very good neighborhood, little did we know! Our Hotel could not have been in a better location for what we wanted to do. The price was reasonable as all the Marriotts in the city were a little too out of our price range. They offered free shuttle service to and from La Guardia airport and every day had free shuttle service to and from the subway station, and if you have ever had to pay for cabs in New York City you will know how much of a blessing it was to have FREE transportation at all. The subway was a short 10 minute ride into the heart of manahattan. There was only one night which we got back too late to catch the shuttle from the subway and I called the front desk to see if they could call us a cab and within 5 minutes a cab was right there. The only thing that was slightly a bummer was that there wasn't really any close restaurants or any places to eat within walking distance from our hotel. It was kinda in an industrial part of queens. Although what was cool about that was we were literally right next to Silvercup Studios (Ugly Betty, Sex and the City, 30 Rock, and a lot of other shows are filmed there) So that was pretty interesting. Oh and we did enjoy the free complimentary breakfast and coffee every morning. So if your looking for a low budget trip to New York City I highly recommend staying here, the staff was wonderful and all the free perks definitely helped us keep our cost down on our amazingly fun trip to New York City.
