Beautiful room, great service.

Located downtown, a 7 block walk to the river/lake and two blocks from the Kohler Art Museum, Grandstay is geared toward business people. Our one bedroom suite was well appointed, clean and comfortable. There was even microwave popcorn and a granola bar in a basket on the counter at no charge.
A combination table/desk serves as a divider between the kitchen and the living room - very cleverly done and worked fine for two adults. The one bedroom would be tight for a family with older children. Try a studio or the two bedroom suite. Much cheaper than some of the resorts located on the river or Lake Michigan.
The free breakfast had hot sausage and scrambled eggs, hard boiled eggs, toast, bagels, donuts, cereal, & a variety of beverages. Fresh fruit was available all day.
The front desk staff and even the cleaning people went out of their way to make our stay pleasant. Nice pool. The hot tub was not heating during our stay. We did see repair people working on it later that day. For Dinner in the area Highland House was fun and the food very good. Great place for kids. Margaux has wonderful chocolate souffle. We went back again our second night.
