Search-me-Heart, Port Antonio

Rosanna Trifogli, the Italian owner of this guesthouse was not in Jamaica during the time of our stay, leaving Yellow Culture to run the property. Apparently, Rosanna is not on the premises five months per year. Culture would blast his DJ system at all hours of the day and night, even leaving it running in his locked studio when he would go elsewhere. The provided breakfast meals were terrible and insufficient (four fried eggs and some bread divided between six people?). The dinners weren't much better, with a ten dollar charge per person. Unfortunately, the restaurants within walking distance don't offer much of an alternative. The guest rooms had no hot water, and one guest that inquired about it was told to take a cold shower and quit complaining. The numerous beaches in the area are the biggest draw, IMO, and I give credit to Culture for introducing these to us. There were obviously communication problems between Rosanna and Yellow Culture, with much confusion as to balance due with arriving guests. There was also some very unprofessional and rude behavior that made the stay quite unpleasant at times. The guesthouse itself is nicely decorated and well-kept. The garden is another beautiful feature. However, none of this would lead me to recommend a stay at Search-Me-Heart.
