Water Street Hotel & Marina, Apalachicola

This place was awsome....Quiet, Romantic, I give the accomidations an A plus.....and the Restaurants are within walking distance to some of the best seafood in Florida. The staff was great as well. We are gong back........

There is nothing not to like. The suites are sumptuous. The location and views are perfect. The silly post further down) on ants is ridiculous.

The Water Sreet Hotel is much more than just a place to spend a few days. It is a destination!! The staff was excellent from giving a historical review of the town to suggesting places to eat. We will return and bring others with us.

Loved everything about this place, the room is not just a room, it is a suite!!! We had a fully equipped kitchen, with all stainless steel appliances, (even a washer and dryer, two flat screen tvs and a dvd player) everything you would need to create your own gourmet meal! The furniture is beautiful as well as the rugs, linens and towels, everything is top notch!!! The veranda is like your window to the beauty of the area, we sat for hours watching for shrimp boats, dolphin, gators, all of which we saw lots of!!! The pool area, boat slips and the fishing docks were all so beautiful and so clean, the staff was always willing to help us with all of our questions about local restaurants, shopping, etc. Loved the Piggly Wiggly!! We were celebrating my son's 12th birthday and i asked them to put a little something in the room for us.... they had a huge bouquet of gator orange and blue balloons and some wonderful chocolates waiting for us when we arrived, we even extended our stay the minute we saw the room and the surrounding charm of Apalachicola !! We are planning to go back for sure and hopefully can spend more time in the hotel!!! We actually ran of time for all we wanted to do in the area!! The only negative was we had no cell phone service at all (T-Mobile), but really didnt miss that!!!! We highly recommend Papa Joes, The Owl Cafe, The Veranda, Tamaras and that place on 98 in Eastpoint!!! (Boss Oysters was ok but not great service) We thought we would get bored in such a small quaint town but we found so much more to do than we expected, next time we will buy some of that local seafood and take advantage of the kitchen and spend more time enjoying our new favorite place The Water Street Hotel and Marina!!!

There were ants everywhere and the guest relations worker was very rude. When we had questions about the room or the ant situation, she snapped at us and told us to "just check out and go somewhere else." I've never been spoken to like this in life, much less at a hotel. There are wasps outside the rooms. There is not much parking and the workers allowed "locals" to park in handicapped parking and loading zone parking. It was my worst experience in a hotel and in Florida in general. With better management this hotel could be a great place to stay.

great place for relaxation or romance. this is a place to get away from all the hustle and bustle of everyday life. terrific rooms with river and bay views. staff was very friendly and went out of their way to make you feel at home. was the first stop on a six day trip across the state, wish we could have stayed there the full six days. was the first trip to the emerald coast and after visiting, it won't be are last.
