Sandal Grande Ocho Rios Resort, Ocho Rios

I just returned from an extended stay in Afghanistan and my wife booked us for a 5 day stay. She booked us a Honeymoon Villa w/Pool. Unfortunately, it was far from what I would consider a honeymoon villa. The accomodations were mediocre at best. Housekeeping NEVER cleaned the room before 4:00 pm! One day we arrived after 5:00 pm to shower and change for dinner, the room wasn't done and we didn't have fresh (or even dry) towels for our shower. 45 mins later housekeeping arrived to clean the room and replce the towels. I could go on and on, but that was one example of the housekeeping/accomodations section. Every resturaunt is backed up at least 30 mins., although there are alot of empty tables available. Can't figure that one out. One evening we went to Valentino's for dinner. We arrived at the hostess station at 7:00 pm. and we finally finished our dinner at 10:00 pm. The service was s-l-o-w, the portions were very, very small and the restrooms were outside the resturaunt, down the stairs and inside the lobby. The Jerk Chicken at the Grill was the best meal on the resort. The Main Pool is the center of beauty at the resort. It is very nice with plenty of chairs. The only problem there is the lack of clean towels. Usually there was a wait for towels and then when they arrived, it was a mad rush to get one. Don't expect to have a drink brought to you. All drinks will be ordered by YOU and delivered by YOU from the bar. The bars are not properly stocked with all types of alcohol. If the bartender doesn't have the alcohol you request, they will tell you in no uncertain terms to go to another bar and get it. Very frustrating!!!! All-in-All I would not recommend this resort to anyone. It was a very upsetting experience. My wife and I made the best of the situation and had a wonderful time being together in the sun and warmth.

This was a horrible hotel. My husband and I both got sick from the food and they would not refund us our money for an excursion since we could not go because we spent two days being sick . The service was horrible. Although it is suppose to be no tipping the only way you will get any decent service is if you do tip. This was the biggest waste of money.

from the moment we stepped on to the grounds of the resort we had a blast. everyone was very helpful and ready to jump at whatever we asked for.we were in an grande lux oceanfront room. the room was clean and very comfortable.items used were replenished promptly.we were on our honeymoon and it was so romantic.if you wanted a little excitement they always had something going on.rather it be a pool party with buffet,or the beach party.they were both great.the food was very delicious and a good variety.we had a candlelit dinner on the pier and the service was phenominal.we were there for a week and it was well worth the money we spent.we went on a few excursions and the help desk booking them did a great job.the only problem we had was the front desk telling us the incorrect time of our flight. we went down to confirm our flight time and was told differently. needless to say we almost missed our flight. we did get on our flight and everything was ire mo'n. We are definately planning a trip back soon and would recommend this resort to anyone.GREAT TIMES IN JAMAICA MON!!
