Unbelievable Resort Experience
Apparently, the only reason this hotel doesn't have a 5 full star rating is because of the one guy who reviewed it, but hasn't even been there yet...
The Royal Cancun definitely gets a 5 star rating from our group. We went last week with another couple and we were stunned at how new and luxurious the hotel was. We had never been to an all-inclusive resort before, so we were a little nervous about it, thinking it might be tourist quality food and service... we were wrong. It was one great meal after another and the service was fantastic (steak, sushi, tepan, buffet, mexican, etc...) Everyone at the resort treated us like we were VIPs. The unlimited, readily available booze and bars was unbelievable. In the Royal Jr Suite we had full bottles of our favorite alcohol and a fridge full of soft drinks, mixers, and bottled water. The views of the beach and pool area from our room on the 8th floor were amazing... I don't think any of the rooms could have a "bad" view, as all of the balconies face the beach.
The pool areas offer the option of the "quiet" side or the party atmosphere of the other side, with activities and DJ music. There are cabanas available on a first come basis, so if you want one you have to get up very early to mark your territory.
There was a "Carribean Night" party on the beach on Friday night. Live band, Vegas quality show, amazing food, dancing, great service, and a set up fit for a royal wedding. Amazing!!!
I would skip the Chef's Dinner, unless you like little pretentious food and have two hours to kill. It was good, but boring...
We did hear some stories from other people about problems with room availability and over-booking, so confirm, confirm, confirm...
WE ARE ABSOLUTELY GOING BACK!!!
