New Pola Hotel, Luxor

I read a lot of reviews for the Pola before I booked, the majority were negative views. I booked because it was cheap and I was on a budget. It is a 3* hotel so I wasn't expecting too much, but I was pleasantly surprised. Far from unfriendly staff, they were all very nice and really helpful and attentive. Buffet breakfast had loads of choices--toast, cold dishes, hot dishes, omlettes prepared in front of you. Evening meal was waiter service with set menu. I thought I'd come unstuck here as I am a 'fussy eater' and don't like meat! But no, the staff made sure there was something for me every night, even asking me through the day if they saw me if I would like what they offered, if not they would find something differant. The rooms were kept very clean, if you needed something extra they got it for you. My only complaint could be that the towels are very rough, so take your own or buy one in Luxor [only £3 for real Egyptian cotton], and the pillows are hard. I enjoyed my stay there very much and would not hesitate to recommend it.
