LOVED it! Beds very comfortable!
By ,
Stayed here with 3 friends and it was tremendous. It was clean, the kitchen had everything we needed, beds were RIDICULOUS comfortable. Slept really well. The hot-tub was broken, so that was a bummer, but otherwise it was perfect! Check in was a challenge, however, as the lady who checked us in was inundated with lot's to do and seemed kind of disoriented. But once everything was done we had no problems whatsoever!

Very nice accomodations. Can't wait to go back.
By ,
My wife and I stayed in Longs Logs unit. Very clean and comfortable, rustic but homey and restful. Everything was there, well stocked kitchen, Gas BarBQ, condements, TV, videos, towels, linens...very nice. Loved the hot tub and the pool table. The staff is friendly and accomodating. Thank all of you for a very restfule 5 days. We will go back soon.

Did check with other rentals at Yosemite West Did find very nice clean and very friendly staff at Yosemite West Cottages If you go there look for Robert or Cindy their rates are very reasonable number of very clean acceptable homes / cottages and condominium unit they handle

Condos were perfect!
By ,
Not the most splendid, opulent accommodations, but it had everything we needed. Much could be done to improve this unit, it has not had the decor updated in many years it would appear, but we didn't come to Yosemite to look at pretty decorating. Beds were comfortable, kitchen was just enough for our needs, and I LOVED that there was an inexhaustible supply of hot water; long, hot showers were a definite luxury. Silverware looked as though it were purchased at a yard sale, nothing matched, glasses and plates were also a bunch of orphan pieces. But it was great otherwise! Very quiet (except for other guests) and every morning we were greeted by several coyotes at our backdoor apparently looking for handouts. No, it's not the Intercontinental, but it was great for us!

Mountain Beauty cabin; EXCELLENT!
By ,
We live in Fresno, and had some dear friends from Florida who had never been to Yosemite, so we suggested a trip to Yosemite. I found Yosemite's Four Seasons. PERFECT! We booked the Mountain Beauty cabin for 6 days and could not wait. We envisioned mountain cabin, hot tub, fireplace, trees, fall colors, no crowds, quiet, etc and THEN I found the review below of the property only days before they were supposed to arrive, and I was terrified. I tried to move our reservation to another property but they were sold out so I was stuck. As we made our way to up highway 41, I tried to prepare our guests for the worst, as gently as I could. We entered the unit holding our breaths, but were (thankfully) pleasantly surprised. It was nothing like the scathing review below. It was clean, had everything we needed; even free coffee! I was particularly paranoid of mouse droppings based on what I read, but even as I looked for it, there were none. It was perfect!! Beds were amazingly comfortable, (w/ down comforters!!!) kitchen and bathrooms had everything. The hot tub was in perfect working order. We cooked our dinners and breakfasts, and it was completely furnished with everything we needed, except for a large pot for cooking pasta. We called the office and they delivered it to us within minutes. I was impressed. The guy who showed up at our door had long hair and kind of rough looking, but was incredibly nice and asked several times if everything was ok, just call if you need anything. On the downside, the parking was a bit of a pain; there's a house next door that kind of shares parking, and the driveway is kinda steep, and there are about 30 steps leading up to the house, but we made do. The furniture is old, but everything worked. The hot water ran out after the third shower in the morning, but we staggered our showers and it worked out. We also had free videos from the office, although they were old and VHS tapes, who cares? The satellite TV didn't have much on it, but it did have the weather channel which we needed... These are small things, and we didn't let them ruin our vacation. I was particularly impressed with how comfortable the beds were. We slept like babies. Down comforters was something I did not expect, but it was really a treat. The staff at the office was nice and accommodating; although we did have to sign some disclosures and were forced to take the rules out to our Florida guests for them to read... ??? I don't know about the review below; maybe they did have a bad deal, but we were in the exact same unit and were thrilled. I now know to take these reviews with a grain of salt. Just out of curiosity, I looked up the Ahwahnee Hotel and they had scathing reviews as well!! Go figure.

Last Place on Earth
By ,
What I liked was NOTHING. What I disliked: The place was DIRTY, not like the picture. Since yosemite is in the middle of nowhere and I did not want to sleep in the car, I stayed there, also I prepaid 2 months before and there were no refunds and there were no other places to stay, I made a BIG MISTAKE. DON't YOU! PLAN better and stay somewhere better. Our room was very dirty. and the place is old, I should have slept in the car for $150.00 NEVER NEVER NEVER AGAIN.

misrepresentation...
Well we liked the location because it was close to the valley and to badger pass. But the condo we stayed in was horrible! The oven and the stove were broken, the hot tub had a leak, we had to fix the toaster, the upstairs shower leaks down into the downstairs bedroom, wasn't stalked as they said, the bbq doesnt work, and WAY too many stairs. The stairs were broken and unsafe. That is the Alpine Retreat cabin and I would not reccomend it! Once you walk into the cabin and see the giant teddy bear then you will understand.

Very disappointed.
By ,
Overall, the place seemed clean on the surface. But upon further inspection, I'm not sure how clean the place was. They definitely have not kept up the place and it shows. I'm sure that in it's time, it was quite the show place. However, here are the issues: 1. The rental office is part of the house. I think they have taken over the garage portion as the rental office. We had a couple of visitors in the middle of the night asking for help with their rental. I mean 2am visitors. 2. NOT KID SAFE! They have a kid's room in an upper loft area that is just plain unsafe. There are very steep stairs which I actually think is a modified ladder. Going up was ok but coming down was not. After a open area, there is a catwalk that leads to the kids room. This cat walk has slats that were wide enough for my kids to get their entire body through. We were too uncomfortable with this and did not allow the kids to play up there. Their deck slats had the same problem and some of the slats were even missing. Didn't want any of my kids to fall 15+ feel so the deck was off limits. 3. Strange lighting...you had to have some kind of degree to figure out the lighting. There were a million switches and some did nothing and the ones that did work were located in strange places. 4. Billiard table...strange skunk smell coming from that room. 5. Found underwear left in one of the dressers. 6. TV! Granted, we didn't spend too much time watching tv but it would have been nice to have a tv to watch in good shape. The tv is so old that it would flicker in and out of color schemes. The best thing about the place was that we had a snow area to play in across the street. The kids were thrilled to just walk out the door to go sledding. Here's my advice to the owners, please spend some money to update and maintain the place. Just new carpet alone would make a huge difference. Make the place kid safe.

mountain beauty home.. not such a beauty
By ,
We have stayed@ yosemite four seasons for the past 5 years.. this year we spend xmas there.. never have had a problem.. yes, the homes are not what they are advertised to be. i do think their internet photos were perhaps taken when the homes were first built.. and the furniture is just as old.. although, the website claims it's not hand me downs.or thing of the sort. We stayed @ Mountain Beauty for the first time and unloaded all of our food and belonging.. as we sat 2 dinner table to have a drink, I noticed mice droppings. ON THE DINNER TABLE! as I started to look around , noticed they were everywhere, in the bathrooms in plain sight! We called management to have the receptionist ask me what I wanted them to do about it. Really?! I asked if they knew if there was a problem, and she said she'd send someone to put out traps. This still leaving us with an uneasy feeling as we saw droppings in cabinets. Upon further "inspection" we saw there were droppping on the BEDS! under the pillows, in 2 of the 3 bedrooms, and our children were laying onthese same beds minutes ago. so disgusting. I KNOW we are staying in the woods. but at$600 a night, the conditions of the home were not up to standard. What makes matters worse, is that Marci the manager , doesn't really care. If she did she would have immediately called us after she heard of what was happening. yes, she did offer other accomodations, but none would be ok for 10 guests. we spent most of our first night driving around looking for another home to stay at. The first we looked at also had mice droppings in the bed.. TOtally Unaceptable. The owner said to me NO ONE has ever complained about this before, but by reading these reviews I think she is delusional and in denial. I suggested she visit these homes she is getting good $$ for and take a look at what is really going on. HouseKeeping is not doing their job either. . Couches are dirty. . The men JOE in particular who came to set up traps and change ALL the sheets in the beds, was very nice. .. he apologized several times, and was very sincere about it. I wish I Could say the same bout the owner, who didn't say sorry once. We made the best of a bad situation, They brought us a vacuum per my request, since they don't have daily housekeeping, so here I was on our first night being the housekeeper too. The owner thought she did all she could by what she calls"bending over backwards" for us. All she did was have someone come out to put out traps. (per our request) change sheets (per our request) she claimed houskeeping came by and cleaned every corner of the home, which is wrong again.. because to this day there is still mice droppings in the closet corners. so.. My advise is stay elsewhere. Unless you enjoy living in filth for the length of your stay. I was really dissapointed in management (marci) and girl (litterally ) that is the receptionist. No customer service experience.. So, if you do decide to stay. Check everything before you unload your clothes and food. Our kitchen sponge had hair in it. I mean I could go on forever, they should give you a clean unopened sponge, check under the sheets, under the pillows. in cabinets. The accomodations aside, the kids all had a good time, skiing and enjoying Yosemites beauty. Oh, forgot to mention.. we did get a full nights refund. Not because managenent thought it was the right thing to do, but because again, we requested it. She wanted to give us a credit for a future stay. HA!! I'd rather pay a little more and stay at the fancy hotel on the valley floor. Good luck to you all. please read all reviews, looks like the condos there have same problems. I would NOT stay here again. was NOT worth the money they are charging per night. I wonder if the health dept has visited this Rental company before? Would be interesting to find out.
