Casa New Yorker aka Foreigners Club Hotel

I am staying at the Foreigners Club Hotel for a week so far (Jan 2010) and i absolutely love it! It used to be the Casa New Yorker. The location is great. The staff (Juan/John) could not be any more helpful and fun to be around. The guest house is very gay-friendly. You can even ask John to introduce you to some of his friends. The rooms are clean, hot water, air conditioners, fans, clean linens and towels. There is a kitchen you can use at your pleasure. It was kinda difficult to find info on this place online as it has changed names and owners many times. But i am glad I did. The room rates are hard to beat and it is OK to bring your guests to your room. To keep the place safe, they lock the front doors at all times and all guests must leave their IDs at the front desk. Enjoy!

Stay Away! Please!

I'm not one to be real picky, we like to find cheaper hotels and spend our money on area attractions. This place however, is a hole. The website shows a gorgeous building with a clear background of a gorgeous sunset. This building is run down and in the middle of a concrete jungle. Outside is loud, creepy mechanical noises in the building, everything seemed to have a filth to it, needed cleaned real good. Sheets were heavily stained and were nauseating to look at. Rooms were small and staff was not helpful when we asked for unstained sheets. Stay away, the savings is absolutely not worth it!!!!! BTW, the breakfast part of this "Bed & Breakfast", was cold cereal!
