Sandos Playacar All-Inclusive Beach Resort, Playa del Carmen

We went for our honeymoon. We ended up here after some issues with their other resort, Sandos Caracol Eco Resort. They took care of us and transferred us to the Playacar with no costs or anything involved. Great resort with a perfect beach. Being on the south end of the Playa area it was nice to walk the beach away from the resort if you wanted to get some quiet times. We met some great friends from England and Canada. Planning anothe trip to meet all of them again! Staff was very nice and friendly. Security was not even an issue. The food was good only one place was closed for remodeling. That was the Italian place that seemed to get some bad reviews, good to see they read them. Room service was great and 24 hrs. The only downer was the disco. It was old and in need of some cleaning as it smelled but enough drinks took care of that. The music was good and dancing was fun. We are going back for sure! Told the timeshare people we already belonged to a service and they left us alone the whole trip and we were there for 11 days!

We went here for our honeymoon and a nice relaxing week away. What we got was phone calls at 5 AM asking us to come to a timeshare presentations and a creepy lady stalking us wherever we went. We paid full price for this vacation to avoid the timeshare nonsense. When we complained they just said that is how they work and when I reminded them we payed to be there, they said maybe that was our first mistake. Would not reccomend at all. If you decide to go, brings lots of cash for a cab. It is nowhere near anything.

the resort was at the southern end of development, so, lush forest & few people as you walked south. resort was clean & well kept. security was visible. rooms were clean, normal occurrence that we were put into the front section of the hotel but specifically wanted the hotel area near the ocean. food was okay & very availible. as noted in other review, Italian meal was horrible-thick & doughy stuff that was not like any pasta i have ever met. travel by cab was quick & efficient(around $50usd).
