Lousy experience - will not go back

#1 Left my laptop in the room when I checked out (my fault). Did not realize it until I got home (200 miles away). Asked the owner to mail the laptop to me, certified and with insurance and I would pay for the shipping and his time. He said no. I had to make the 400 mile round trip to pick the laptop up myself. When I arrived back at the Inn, a child (12yrs old ???) was behind the counter and gave me the laptop without asking for any identification or anything. The child said the owner was in the laundry room.
What makes the matter more aggravating is that I stayed in the New Buffalo area for several hours after checkout. It would have been nice if the Inn personnel would have called by phone number, on their records, to advise me that my laptop was left behind.
#2 Stayed two nights. Always curious on how thurough of a cleaning job is done. When we left the first morning I placed a menu, in a plastic frame, on the floor by dresser. When we came back the menu was still on the floor. The rest of the room looked like it was attended to properly. Apparently only the floor wasn't
#3 Check some bloggs on this Inn. One claimed the Inn was 1/2 mile from the casino. NO TRUE unless you are a bird or you walk across I-94 and into the woods to reach the casino. By car it is 2.6 miles. No closer or further than the Best Western, Holiday Inn or Fairfield Inn.
#4 Because of my experience over the laptop, next time I'll pay the extra ten dollars to stay at the Holiday Inn.
