We stayed at the Ivy for 3 nights in Mid March. We booked thru Expedia, so we got a descent rate of around $200 a night. This will be a my first choice for a hotel if we go back to San Diego. We wanted a hotel in the Gaslamp district due to it's close location to restaurants, clubs and shopping. This hotel was wonderful!!!! We've stayed at many hotels throughout the US and this was by far the best. The hotel has a modern decor, free wireless internet which came in handy for us. Only negative was the food. We ordered room service which ended up being over priced and we were not impressed with the quality. For a BLT sandwich, a chicken wrap, fries and water, it ended up being just under $40 with 20% tip added automatically. One thing that I can not overemphasize with this place is there customer service. They were all wonderful! From the valet guys (running down the block to get us cabs in the rain), to the front desk (walking us to our room when we checked in), to the on-floor butler (pressed our clothes last minute for us), to the staff riding on the elevator that asked us about our stay and if we needed anything. The service alone is enough to make you want to come back again and again. I can't say enough about the staff. I highly recommend this place!
