Noisy and Poorly Constructed
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/20/10
My spouse and I stayed at this hotel for a recent getaway weekend. Although we do not normally stay at Holiday Inns, we chose it because of a great rate special and its location. I was initially pleased by the hotel's appearance; the crytal chandelier and granite counters in the bathroom made it feel like home. However, the hotel was poorly constructed; there was a large hole in the floor of the closet and the bathroom had not been completely caulked. We could have overlooked these things if we could have had a decent night's sleep. The hotel was far too noisy and it was obvious that no thought had been given to sound insulation during construction. All night long we could here doors slamming, people talking, babies crying, and the sound of the toilet running constantly in our bathroom. The occupants above us apparently had a hyperactive child who kept running back-and-forth across the room. I finally called the front desk to ask if they could call the occupants above us and request they keep the noise down.
The staff at the Holiday Inn apparently had no interest in whether or not we enjoyed our stay since they did not bother to ask about it when we checked out. The staff's only questions were whether we wanted to pay with the credit card we had reserved the room with and whether we wanted a receipt. We will not stay at this hotel again. We've booked a room at a Hilton Hotel for our vacation next month.
