Great Experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/25/10
I thought Hawaii's Hidden Hideaway was terrific. My friend and I had one of the smaller units and found it comfortable, accommodating, and lovely. Janice had provided our room with everything we could imagine: all kinds of coffee, teas, juices, drinks, pastries, robes, scissors, books, maps, beach mats, umbrellas, etc. Our room and bathroom was clean and showed care and attention to detail. The only complaint I would have is that the rubber duckies didn't float too well. We loved our stay and would go back in a minute.

Cannot be recommended

We, two adults and two kids, spent a week in Feb 2009 at the Hideaway, but not in the big studio but in one of two smaller units. Those units are definitely not award-winning, they offer no ocean view, and you hear a lot of what goes on in the units above and next to yours. The room was crammed with older furniture and did not offer a lot of space to open suitcases or to put things. Although the owner's website suggests the units sleep four, they only sleep two. After we had paid the whole fee in advance the owner told us that we needed to rent the other unit as well in order to have enough beds for all four of us. When we said we couldn't, we were provided with two old, torn, thin "futons" and small towels as blankets for the kids to sleep on the floor. We never saw the owner once during our stay. The expensive big studio is probably a nice place to spend your vacation, the smaller ones are definitely not. And you judge the decency of the owner.
