I really can't come up with any negatives for this place. The owners are friendly, the rooms are great, it is very clean and very close to downtown. We stayed in room 4 and we honestly felt like we were walking into our room at home (except with much more purple!). You can only get in to the house with the key that they give you at check-in which made us feel very safe and secure and the owners made us feel like we were part of their family. This really was a fantastic place to stay on mackinaw island. I give no hesitation to give it 5 stars. I am sure this will not be my last stay at the lilac house!
Moring breakfast consisted of boxed cereals and poptarts. coffee pot had only 1 cup coffee left for my husband and I to split. Another guest came to breakfast and hostess showed up in her pajamas. She grabbed the empty urn and never returned. Guest left to get coffee from Starbucks. Her excuse for the pajamas was a late night. Don't waste $150.00 on the one.
