Grande Hostel de Coimbra is the only true hostel in Coimbra . We started in 2007. Located at Rua Antero Quental n 196 , center Coimbra- near Pra�a Republica - Coimbra\'s heart!Grande Hostel de Coimbra is located near the most historical area of Coimbra. You can go to the University founded in 1290 by King D.Dinis and them start a walking tour of walled city and to many other monuments in \'Old-Town\' where you will also found restaurants, cafes, esplanades, shops, tourism info spot... Try also not to miss the Botanic Garden and the Old Cathedral wirh romanesque style.Coimbra is a few minutes from Conimbriga ( largest and best preserved Roman settlement in Portugal ) and from Bucaco (magic mountain forest located just northeast of Coimbra, was first settled by Benedictine monks in the 6th Century and it was battle ground from Napoleonic invasion of Portugal .It is also close to the main transport system (bus, taxi), the best night life area Praca da Republica - and the train station that takes you to the nearest beach -Figueira da Foz- just for a few euros!The building is over 100 years old and we keep the original things that make the hostel so special: really high ceilings and wood floors.Grande Hostel de Coimbra has 6 rooms available. There are two double bedrooms( one of them you can book it for 3, 1double bed and 1 extra dorm bed) in the hostel and dorms for 4 or 8 people. Free security Lockers in dorms. The kitchen is open to all our guests and has all the necessary stuff to cook, so you can prepare your own food and save some money. There are 2 lounge areas and a big sunny garden where you can relax, have a drink, listen to music, read books and magazines, play games or just chat with the other guests. We have Free internet, Free WiFi, free maps, tourist info and guides, laundry, cable tv plus Free coffee and tea all day.10 euros deposit for room keys.Check in starts at 14pm and finishes at 22.30.If you arrive earlier we can keep your bags for free in a safe place.Please note that cancellation must be done 2 day prior arrival.No curfew.Don\'t hesitate on contacting us to discover an available room !!Grande Hostel Coimbra
