Ick!
We planned a fun family trip to Egypt with our friends - 4 adults and 4 kids. We changed hotels after the first night. Our room was dirty and so was the entire floor we were on. The lobby was nice (maybe we should have slept there). My friends daughter is highly allergic to cats and oddly, there were two kittens wandering the halls meowing at all hours. The view of the pyramid wasn't as expected. The pyramids were miles and miles away and seemed like a tiny dark shadow in the distance. Location is off the beaten path - and taxi drivers had no idea where this hotel was. I would recommended staying in Cairo not Giza. The pyramids are in Giza, but the restaurants and shopping, etc. are in Cairo. We paid too much for our rooms and couldn't wait to find a better place to stay.
