Not the best, but not the worst...
WARNING!!! This place overbooks its rooms! We were pushed to the motel next door even though we checked-in prior to the 3:00p.m. check-in time. At first the staff didn't think it was any big deal that they could not find our reservation (I prepaid through Travelocity and provided a confirmation #), but I stayed polite and flexible with them and they offered a room at the motel next door (same owner, same price). We witnessed another couple in the same predicament and they started arguing with the staff, so the staff was rude back and told them there were no rooms available. I'm not condoning the staff or the guests' behavior, just warning others to be polite. Also, we witnessed another couple getting mad that they were removed from their room becuase the motel's computer showed that they only had a one night reservation and yet they prepaid for two nights. The argument got very heated and once again, both the guests and staff were very rude to eachother. As far as I know, the couple was allowed to stay the night at the motel. We found out at check-out that the motel only had us for a two night stay although we had really paid for three nights. But the hotel never said anything to us during our stay and just shrugged their shoulders and said no worries.
Overall, the hotel was extremely pet friendly, in a great location to the falls, and a good deal at $55 USD per night (what we paid). Although there were issues with our reservation, the staff was nice to us and offered the amenities of both motels to us. Make sure to call and confirm your reservation a day or two prior to your visit though. Even if the staff member says no problem on the phone (my experience), make sure they actually say "yes, it is confirmed," to save yourself the possibility of not having a room. If we were to travel with our pets to this area again, we would definitely consider staying here again. Without our pets though, we would find a little more upscale hotel closer to the falls.
Some tips:
1. Bring your own soap and shampoo. The motel does not provide this.
2. Be prepared to drive a mile or two to all of the big tourist spots. Everything is very close, but just outside of walkable.
3. Don't expect luxury. It's a Motel 6, not a Hilton.
4. Buy the Niagara Parks' Adventure Pass. This isn't motel-related, but it will definitely make your Falls trip easier and more affordable.
5. Not much grass for walking your dog.
