Diving Pelican Inn, La Ceiba

We've traveled Central American a lot. This is the first hotel we've stayed at that truly caters to what Americans expect and are used to. Very clean, very safe, beautiful furniture, surroundings and everything we would ever want was in our room (television, dvd, air conditioning, hot water, reading lamps, coffee pot with coffee, books, fans, really top rate sheets and towels and purified water). Some places say beach front...this place is beach front. If you were any closer you'd be on sand! It's small, 3 rooms right now, and has a private bar/champa just for the guests where you can party, barbeque, drink, relax, whatever. The owners, Jim & Cathryn, were great. They helped us with everything from Spanish words to arranging tours, but were never under foot. We would recommend the Diving Pelican Inn to anyone who wants five star accomodations at Central American prices.
