La Perla Hotel, ESCAZú

My husband discovered this gem of a small hotel whilst out running in the hills of Escazu. Discreet notices offered an astounding rate per night, we had to investigate and we were not disapointed. The hotel, only recently renovated, with superb views, each set of rooms en suite and set on the top of the moutains overlooking a swanky San Jose suburb was indeed a 'find'. A terrace invited breezes that, we were told, blew even in the hotest summer days. But it was the glistening views at night stretching 30-40 miles that we'll remember. That plus the quirky interior spiral staircase which led up to a 'party room' below the roof. Once the hotel gears up its restaurant service it will be set, but until then, be prepared to bring in take-away from down the valley.
