Meeranjali, Pondicherry

We were made very welcome by Chitra and Pradip, and we had some nice cats over breakfast. Their Homestay is centrally located and they let us know about local events and what to see. I would return without hesitation!

Chitra was rude when cancelled reservation in advance. She just yells on the phone and says she can not refund any money. I had booked for 4 days and paid Rs 5000.00 as advance. Amazingly I see many positive feedbacks for a hostess who is so uncouth. Avoid Meeranjali like pestilence.

I have had my most disappointing of holidays in my life. Thanks to believing on photos on the Website and the arrogance of Chitra. Lack of courtesy to guests, they are no more than the roadside shack owners, who cares less for any customer , more interested in making money than building a relationship. There is no Drinking Water, if you land at odd hours, god save you, A/cs do not work, NO cleaning facilities for the apartment, which are nothing but pigeon holes. No parking facility, it is on the road, god save your vehicle. They charge in full but no refund for any thing, they have nothing else but money making thought behind it. It was an insult that we chose to stay at Meeranjali. Please do go by their website, it is absolute false claims.

Pradip and Chitra are the most gracious and friendly people, and fluent in (at least) English, French and Tamil. Their home is well-appointed and immaculate. Breakfasts were delicious, beds, a/c and showers of high quality. Overall this was an extremely pleasant and enjoyable stay, and I would recommend it without hesitation. I hope they are still in business when we make it back there someday.
