Driftwood Lodge, Caye Caulker

My husband and I found this gem quite by accident. We saw a sign on the main drag of Caye Caulker for a "Full Moon Party" being held at the Driftwood Lodge and decided to give it a try. We took the boat over (6 minute cruise) and had the time of our lives! Bands, food, French wines, beautiful open bar...all right on the sea! We met the staff and owners and were made to feel like family immediately! This place made such an impression on us, we spent the remaining 3 days of our vacation here! The food was made fresh and to order...it was extremely reasonable! The Lobster was incredible (as was the wine, cocktails and service)! Open air dining, candle light, evening breeze, everything we needed for a very special get-away! The last day of our vacation, the staff lent my husband a spear gun and let him spear fish the afternoon away! The Chef even made a gourmet dinner out of the fish my hubby caught...amazingly yummy! The best part was that everything you needed was RIGHT there....food, privacy, cocktails, secluded beach, beautiful Guest House, pier, fishing, boating, bonfires, cabana, colorful conversation, near by islands, lagoon, wildlife and excellent service. The staff/owners attended to our every need! We are planning to go back again next year...this time with our children. We have traveled all over the Caribbean and never found a place that can touch the Driftwood Lodge.
