Mandeview Flats, Mandeville

warm staff, excellent full breakfast, comfortable room and bed. The view of mandeville is spectacular. The old rooms should stay closed...Make sure to get a renovated room!

There was nothing I disliked about this place. The breakfast was good and filling and included in the price. If I had to say something negative it would be that you have to go into Mandeville town in order to eat lunch or dinner. There was no facilities for buying even a cold drink in the hotel and that was a drag (luckily, they had a refrigerator in the room so you buy drinks in town). In summary, it was reasonable and the staff were helpful. I would recommend it for what it is.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Mandeview Flats the rooms were clean and quiet. There was not a roach in sight. I will definitely go back for a visit, and will tell my friends. rooms are clean and staff courteous, very quiet indeed i love it

I stayed at mandeview this year. when i entered the front desk person was so pleasant and courteous and that set the tone for my visit. i really enjoyed my stay there. the place was very quite, the room clean, the food good and the staff very helpful and pleasant. the room had no air condition and i was disappointed at first but in the nights i really didn't miss it, in the days was different. i would recommend this hotel for persons wanting to stay in the mandeville area.these people really try to make you feel at home. thanks a lot

I am writing this from my room at the Mandeview so the internet works. Agree with "lower expectations", rooms have no air conditioning and it is incredibly hot & humid. I would describe the facilities as primitive, staff courteous room cleaned well, breakfast and view are nice. Hot water intermittent.We could not cool the room by opening the windows at night due to mosquitoes and ill fitting screens. Bring your own toiletries,this is a no frills hotel. Small fridge in room which works, and cable TV. Don't know what the other area hotels are like.

I always stay at the RItz Carlton when I visit Jamaica; however if you want to go to Mandaville, I would recommend this hotel. It is family owned and the rooms are kept very clean but has a slight mildew smell when the windows are closed; so remember to keep the open. The hotel sits on top of a hill and the Jamaican breakfast is included in the price and is served on the terrace overlooking the beautiful hills of Mandaville. I look at it more like a two star guest house, clean, comfortable, good breakfast. Just remember to wear a slippers when taking a bath or entering the bathroom and don't be afraid if you see a roach or two. Just remember that this is 'country' as Jamaicans would say and if not the Mandeview Flats then where else. The other hotels around Mandaville are in far worst state then Mandeview Flats.

I stayed here for only one night of an intended week,because the rooms are crappy, hot water didnt work, tv doesnt work, ropaches galore, and too noisy. Hostile staff didnt care when i tried to voice my concerns so I checked out early.Definetly not worth the trouble.
