Adamgoodstay Guesthouse, Amsterdam

everything as perfect for our week in amsterdam hans and wendie were very nice and let us do our own thing almost everything we needed was in the room and even little extras that we diddnt count on. the location is superb for relaxin in the square me and my new wife loved it i will return.

We reiterate everything already said about Adamgoodstay. It's the perfect hideaway when all is rainy in Amsterdam. We loved the room, so much nicer than an impersonal hotel, very cosy and homely. Hans and Wendie were the perfect hosts, giving us breakfast as promised and being there if we needed them, they let us get on with our break. I can't fault this place, it's the 4th time i've stayed in this area and i will never stay anywhere else now. Perfect! Thank you verymuch!

My girlfriend and I really had an amazing time. Hans and Wendie were friendly enough, but just let us get on with our trip. Great location. Very clean and tidy, would definitely come back!

My wife and I recently stayed here for 3 days and we cannot highly recommend it enough. The room was cozy, but not cramped by any means. There was a small balcony and a good sized bathroom. The stairs were very steep and narrow, but of course, that's to be expected in Amsterdam. Wendie served us a nice, small breakfast to get us started in the morning (generally, coffee, fresh squeezed orange juice, a pastry and fruit). The guestroom is in a great location as it's right in the middle of the Leidseplein area, so plenty of things to do (albeit a bit touristy). It's also very easy to get anywhere you want in the city since it's right on the 1, 2, 5 tram stop and any part of the city centre is at most, a 30 minute walk. When we were searching for places to stay in Amsterdam, we wanted our own room/bathroom (so most hostels were out) and most hotels were very expensive (or were much further out). Adamgoodstay was a perfect mix of affordability, location, and a personal connection to the city (incidentally, Hans is a wealth of information about Amsterdam, so definitely solicit recommendations if needed). The next time we come to Amsterdam, we will most certainly be staying with Hans and Wendie.

It's right on the main shopping street, so an ideal place to give you access to all of the city. It was a shame that you couldn't cycle down Leiderstraat, but there were places to lock the bikes by the canal nearby. It's good being at the back of the house as there was quite a bit of noise on the street at night, which you can't hear in the room. The room and bathroom were really clean and really nicely decorated, the couple that own the house used to have it as an art gallery, so it's very stylish. They were really friendly, gave us a bit of advice about nice places to see, but on the whole, leave you to get on with it. There are a lot of stairs and they are very steep, but this is the case with nearly all places in Amsterdam. There was no curfew, so long as you didn't come shouting and crashing up the stairs, you have the keys and you can come and go as you please. A really great place to stay.
