Comfortable and Spacious Hotel
This was my first stay at a Homewood Suites, and I loved it! This is an extended stay hotel, meaning that it is just like a home away from home. The staff was really welcoming and friendly. There is a decent free breakfast every morning and light snacks in the evening. The hotel also has do-it-yourself laundry facilities, which comes in handy on long trips.
The hotel has a basketball court and outdoor grills if you want to have a cookout. There is a small indoor pool and hot tub, but it is open late and we had it to ourselves most nights. There is plenty of free outdoor parking.
Our room felt like a home, and it was actually nicer than our first apartment. There is a small and fully equipped kitchen (all the pots, plates, and cooking untensils you could ever need) with a 2 burner electric stove, microwave, coffee maker, full sized refrigerator with ice maker and dishwasher. If you have kids or like to cook, this is a great place for you. We bought deli food and cheeses and enjoyed having a place to store them safely. At the end of the day, we'd come back to the room and enjoy a bottle of wine with our goodies - just heavenly in wine country!
The room had a ceiling fan and individually controlled a/c unit so we were nice and cool. The seating area had a good sized sofa and a flat screen t.v. with a small eating area. The bathroom was nothing fancy with just a walk-in shower (no bath tub) and separate area with a sink (so one person could be showering while the other was brushing their teeth or putting on makeup).
The bedding was very comfortable (our comforter had a stain on it, but no big deal - see photos) with soft sheets and a plush duvet. The blackout curtains did a great job keeping the room nice and dark for sleeping. In-room internet access was free!
Since this is an extended stay hotel, there is NOT daily maid service unless you request it. I think they service your room every 3 days. I prefer to have my room cleaned every day of my stay.
This is a pet-friendly hotel, and we saw lots of dogs being walked. If you don't like animals, you might want to take note because there really were dogs everywhere - but their owners were really considerate. I never heard any of the dogs barking or anything during our stay.
My biggest complaint is that the hotel is far away from any of the big wineries. The good news is that you feel far away from it all, but the bad news is that you ARE far away from it all.
