Grand Atlantic Resort, Myrtle Beach

I stayed there a couple weekends ago in the penthouse suite. Amenities are sub-par and linens are terrible, very scratchy. After checking out I was charged $150 "cleaning fee" because of "heavy smoke smell" even though nobody smoked in the room. GM wouldnt even listen when I called to dispute.

Showed up at the holiday inn booked for 7 days believing their photos and realized it was really trashy in a trashy part, so we called AAA and this is where they got us in and it was barely more than a single holiday inn room slum, and in return we got a full condo room with large bathroom, separate bedroom, full kitchen and ocean front with nice patio. Every looked and smelled new and cleaning staff was superb everyone leaves you alone which is a good thing. Yes if you have an overweight suv parking will be tight as it should be its 2011 get over it. There is an attached restaurant that will serve you at the pool, yes they will be on their cell phones talking russian but theyre cute and dont work for the hotel, they are there in case you want food so some of the foreign language talk about this place is misguided. Its really a top notch condo you get and everything is well maintained. Mind you if you rent beach chairs on the beach be prepared to blow 30 dollars a day to rent them but its not the hotels fault. 10 min from any place you want to go in myrtle beach. To come back to this room was so easy compared to a single room hotel. I had a 46+ inch big screen in a separate room where I could stay up late after the kids were in bed. People that trash this hotel verbally must be much snobbier than I. I dont need them to serve me breakfast, we have our own kitchens and limitless places to go out if needed, this is a wonderful place and I will be back later this year after taking the family on "their" vacation to Disney world in June...yes...after disney world I will need a vacation and this is my kind of vacation. Location rocks, youre 10 minutes away from anything you would want to go to but far enough away from the spring break gheto tshirt store central part of myrtle beach where the kids and cops are.

We did not even like the way the hotel (and truly it is a hotel by no means a resort) looked from the street. Once we checked we found that the half the keys did not work, filthy condos. The floors had not been cleaned and there was dirt in the corner of each bathroom. All of the ceiling fans had so much dust on them the guy had to cover the bed to clean the fan. When we made the reservations we were promised a condo that sleeps 16 people then they removed the sleeper couches out of both the condos we rented. The managers all but stated they did not care and waited two days for the sales person who booked the condos to call back to verify my story. Well she never called back and the Manager deducted 100.00 from the total price. My family spent thousands of dollars at this place and it was not worth even half of that. Do yourself and your family a favor GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! If I had more time I would tell you more about why you should not stay there, so for now just take my word for gold. Spend the extra dollar to stay in a clean and well managed RESORT.

we stayed at this facility for over a week and the floors were not vacumed, and the maids did not leave toilet paper or soap,we had to go to the front desk and get them ourselves.the pools are cold and dirty,and the employee's that work there are constantly talking to each other in a different language.for over 2 thousand dollars we should have received top notch service and didn't get anything near that.

I have stayed here many times now and plan to keep staying here. There is nothing else in Myrtle Beach that even compares to this wonderful new facility. The staff is great, they are truely excited to be a part of the wonderful package created by the planners of this building. This is designed to be the top vacation choice for the next 50 years. All rooms and facilities are top notch, made with quality materials and maintained responsibly with a view of the future. All facilities are sized for the building occupants, excercise rooms are always open - no waiting for machines, plenty of parking with easy building access. Elevators run very fast and smooth. Professional management does a great job keeping rooms clean -- I have even checked with a black light and found nothing at all. The surrounding neighboorhood is beautiful with wonderful people to help with directions or advice on places to visit during our stay. I found out about a wonderful local zoo and a great local restaurant that has food to beat any five star restaurant at great prices. Every stay I have had here has been extremely relaxing. Rooms are well insulated and I could never even tell if anyone was staying in any of the rooms next to me or above me. The on site restaurant is great food for the price and the pools are great with plenty of room for all. Easy beach access and the beach is great for walking, playing volleyball, building sandcastles or wading out in the surf. If you don't try this place you will really be missing a vacation of a lifetime.

This facility was horrible!!! we are used to staying in a clean, friendly, warm resort. Upon arrival; the unit was filthy!!! It appeared that the maid did not clean upon the prior guest leaving. We had to request new linen for all beds. The floor was not vacuumed, the sinks were dirty, sticky and just a pure sense of disguist. The front desk offered no assistance, other than to give us the sheets. The room was cleaned the next day. The hallways smelled of sour trash and the elavators also smell very badly. It is not worth the money spent. The pools are in the shade, and you stay cold. Your ocean front view, also includes the top of the next buildings roof (not truely ocean front) and the "free internet" did not work. We were to told to contact technical support-no assistance given. I would never return to this resort, much less the area which is surrounded by run down neighborhoods--- YUK!!
