We booked a junior suite at the Grand Palladium Punta Cana with two double beds and the junior suites do not come with double beds, only a king, even though the websites say they do. The guy at the front desk put us in a loft suite at the Grand Palladium Palace after we told him we didn’t want a loft. The two beds are upstairs and so close together, plus I didn’t want to climb those stupid stairs. After complaining, we were moved to a regular deluxe room with two double beds. The room is nothing to sing about!! The bedspread looks like it’s over 5 years old and has never been washed. We threw those on the floor and the maid didn’t put them back on the beds. The jet tube is in the room, which is weird considering it was me and my friend, so we had to take showers in the small stand up shower, and yes…it’s small!! Very uncomfortable and inconvenient. There were these small ants or bugs all in the room. The TV cable kept going out and several channels didn’t show well. The air conditioner did blow cold air always. We constantly had to ask for more towels. The food is not great. The only restaurant that I really liked was the Japanese steakhouse hibachi style. The food tasted good but everywhere else had the crazy Dominican taste, which isn’t appealing to us Americans!! The drinks were sooooo sweet and they only have Dominican beer. No Budweiser, no Corona, no Heineken, no NOTHING!!
My friend that I traveled with stayed at the Grand Palladium in Jamaica and she says that it was a million times better than this place. She kept making comparisons the entire trip and it really made me realize how much this resort was lacking. If you have the opportunity to stay someplace else, please do!!
