We arrived on a particularly rainy day and there happened to be a large rain storm that was hovering directly over Salt Lake City, so it was hard to enjoy a view of the city nestled in amongst the Wasatch Mountain range. It was a really long drive. We got a late start Thursday and drove through storms so we didn't get as far as we planned. I couldn't drive any farther so we pulled off in Stuart, Iowa. All the hotels were full. I couldn't drive any more so we spent the night in the car in the McDonald's parking lot. I woke up at 6 and we headed out. The drive through Nebraska was so boring we thought it would never end, but it was a beautiful drive up the mountain through Roosevelt National Forest to Estes Park, Colorado, where our campground is.
