We decided to detour off I-95 to visit Myrtle Beach. The Fodor's Carolinas and Georgia guidebook remarked that Myrtle Beach is home to the MPGA Masters--that is, a professional miniature golf tournament. The Doubletree doesn't fit the historic surroundings very well, but we were able to overlook this since it was very nice, right in the historic district, and gave a great view. Bistro Savannah was a nice place to eat and had a cool vibe, but was greatly overpriced. The food was good, just not $30 per plate good. Club One was supposed to be the hottest dance club in Savannah, I guess Sunday just isn't the night to go. There was hardly anybody there. We abandoned our tour of River Street later in the week to return. It had livened up some, but not much so I'm guessing the weekends must be their ...
