We took a red eye to Philadelphia, so day 1 was little more than a bad flight that was late and crowded. We checked into the Fairfield Inn at 2:30am, the staff was very courteous and understanding. We slept in after our late flight, we packed up and headed out the door of the hotel in Philadelphia and almost turned right around. It was only 11:00am, yet it was close to 100 degrees and 90% humidity. The drive down to Washington DC was very pretty though. We checked our bags at the skycap which sped things up. I never know how much you're supposed to tip for things like that. According to tipping.org, it's $1 or more a bag which is basically what we left. Grandma was gracious enough to give us some small bills that we didn't have at the time $4.
