Thursday, 09-20-07 From Van Nuys, California, through Nevada, Arizona & stopping in Cove Fort, Utah. We left Van Nuys, California about midnight Thursday 09-20-07 right outside of Nevada we pulled off the highway & went to sleep. On the way up there, we had to go through a series of small, Texas towns to a large city called Gainesville, then you have to turn right and the HWY takes you straight into Oklahoma City. Well, I somehow missed the exit, and ended up getting on the HWY that leads you into New Mexico! About thirty minutes later my mom was like, "Are you sure we're on the right road?" After we passed through a German/Texas town called, Muenster, which had many signs advertising their special bratwurst (I had to pull over to the side of the road to snap a photo of that), we knew we had missed the exit somewhere. ...

We had a wonderful time on our trip to OKC. Relaxing and enjoyable. We where not rushed and the timing of places was perfect as we didn't get into any real troublesome traffic or anything. There was a big basketball campionship going on so that probably reduced the touristy numbers a bit. It felt like a mid-week during the day without any traffic or much people. We felt that the locals had all gone on vacation. But their spring break was two weeks later so that couldn't be it. We really enjoyed the wonderfully friendly staff at the KOA campgrounds.
