North Carolina Hotels

Left at 8:15 a.m. Very little traffic, but hard rain from 9 - 11 a.m. and intermittent rain the rest of the drive. Once in the OBX, went to the used book store (Publisher's Warehouse new second location in Southern Shores), Wal-Mart, and Harris Teeter (fruit, juice, milk, cereal, and ingredients for chicken Caesar salad wraps). Tried to go to the Kill Devil Grill for dinner, but it's only open for brunch on Sundays. Went to Goombay's instead. Got grilled shrimp over salad greens. Thunderstorms at night. Overcast. We spent a long weekend in Asheville visiting some friends of ours from Korea (they're now living in Japan). It was an interesting mix of his college friends, her college friends...and then us. The 'mutual' friends.
