As I boarded the plane there was no sense of trepidation nor excitement ,just a keen sense of calm. Found my seat fine I was snuggled between 2 older gentlemen. On my right a businessman who kept his nose in his paper,and to my right a history prof. @ Kent state who was editing a students dissertation. Getting very excited! Today is the 22nd and I'm finishing up last minute preparations. ( i.e. packing, cleaning, printing off maps, finishing the itinerary, cleaning the car, getting gas, etc.) Oh, can't forget to make sure I have enough cash! I'm hoping that I can see all/ most of the things on my schedule, including the Challenger gallery in Taos on my way back. We'll have to see how things go. I'm planning on playing the first round of poker tonight and then go home so I can go to bed early. I figure I will need to get up around 3:30 so I can leave at least by 5:00 AM to beat most of the ...

Well, today we drove from Denver into the mountains. We saw warm, sunny temperatures and we saw snow! A-Basin is still open and we saw people skiing! Caryl left the warmth of our car to venture outside at Loveland Pass - and if Caryl leaves the warmth of the car, you know the views are awesome! Tonight we stopped in Salida, we ate and swam in the (supposed) hot spring pool. Now, we're going to get a good night sleep and leave for Toas in the morning.
